The Nikon 1 J1 Digital Camera is a 10.1-megapixel camera that offers still image and video recording without compromise. 

You can capture full-resolution photos up to 60fps with fixed-point AF even during a fast continuous shot. You can bring your stills to life with the motion snapshot, which harnesses the camera's processing speed to simultaneously shoot a still image. Then it instantly combines the two to create a ‘living image' and capture like never before! The Nikon 1 J1 also boasts a smart photo select mode which uses pre-post capture technology to shoot 20 high-resolution images before and after you release the shutter. It will save the ‘best' five images based on composition and focus.

You can shoot full HD movies at 60 and 30 fps and shoot in slow motion with the advance movie recording. The camera also uses phase-detection
AF which will quickly focus on movement and even works during recording at 60i, 60p and 30p frame rates. The Nikon 1 movie creator automatically creates short movies from your footage and images. The easy-to-use feature preserves the quality of every photo or frame of footage you shoot.

The J1 model is designed for easy operation with clear menus, a minimum number of buttons, a built-in flash and an easy-to-reach mode dial for quick access to shooting modes. The Nikon camera has a bright 1440k-dot electronic viewfinder which delivers a clear, stable view and 100% frame coverage for sharp, balanced shooting. The camera automatically senses when you're using the viewfinder and switches the LCD screen off preserving battery life.

The CX-format CMOS image sensor gives the ideal balance between system size, speed, light sensitivity, resolution and depth-of-field. This delivers
excellent colour reproduction, 100-6400 (extended) ISO, RAW shooting implemented with a dust reduction system.

The EXPEED 3 image processor can deliver supreme levels of speed and performance in any situation. The camera is equipped with two engines that can process images at an incredible 600 megapixels a second.
